It all started with Toy Story 3 in 3D on Friday {opening day} - our family, my mom and our nephew, Kell.

Then after a late night with three boys {Kell spent the night}, we had a few friends and family members join us at the Kiwanis Park downtown for some {very} hot fun and cupcakes.

And today, Miles and I had a {just the two of us} birthday date to celebrate his actual birthday. We were enjoying lunch at Krystal's {his choice} at the exact moment he turned 5.

And tonight we had one more round of candles and singing and his favorite kind of pie - pumpkin!

How is is that my little Miles is already five?

Five things I love about Miles at 5:
- How he falls asleep with books - usually the Jesus Storybook Bible... but he does still love his tractor books too. He will not go to sleep without hearing a bible story.
- He is such a boy - tee ball, mud and sand, trucks and tractors, toy guns. He'd live outside if he could. And shoot things.
- Those big, blue eyes. They always sparkle... either with love or, most often, mischief. Oh, and those freckles are to die for. I love them!
- How I never know what I'll find him eating in the morning. Recently it was left over chocolate pie from a church dinner. He tried {with no success} to downplay the HUGE chocolate ring around his mouth.
- The stunning self-portrait he scratched into a dining room chair recently when my mom was keeping the kids for us. She was giving Ella a bath. When she was done she found this:

can you see his sketch that he scratched with an icing tip? We were so mad... but I tell you the truth... I will never, ever get rid of this chair. I love it. But don't tell him I said that. And he started out like this:

Sons are a heritage from the LORD, children a reward from him. Psalm 127:3
